Nearby Attractions (Central Massachusetts)

 

Mountains, museums, and mazes, oh my! Whether you’re an outdoor enthusiast, a history buff, or up for finding your way through a maze, Central Massachusetts is the place to go. Looking for something else? With concerts, conventions, and hockey games, lectures and art receptions, plays, and holiday outings, among many other events, there is always something going on for all interest groups and age levels. This area offers much activity and major attractions such as Old Sturbridge Village ( 100 ACRES), where you can see life as it used to be, and the famous Brimfield Antiques Show of hundreds of acres of antiques from dealers nationwide (in May, July, Sept).  Other nearby activities include horse back riding, shopping, biking, hiking, farms, fruit orchard pickings, boating, fishing, golfing, snowshoeing, and skiing, perfect for visiting any time of the year. Fall foliage is spectacular! 

Western Massachusetts is not that far away. You have a very famous amusement park by the name of Six Flags New England. It's about an hour away.

Old Sturbridge Village

Old Sturbridge Village - a "must-see" New England attraction which depicts life in an early 19th-century rural Village, featuring costumed historians, antique buildings, water-powered mills, and a working farm. You can view antiques, meet heritage breed animals, and take part in hands-on crafts.

Southwick's Zoo
Southwick, MA

Spend the day viewing the most diverse zoological collection, interactive exhibits, and endangered animals in naturalistic habitats at New England's Largest Zoo.  Get up close and personal in the walk-thru deer forest, petting zoo, and parakeet landing.

Have a picnic under the shady canopy of New England Oaks, ride the Woodland Express Train, or enjoy an up lifting experience on the Safari sky ride. Kiddie rides, shows, gift shops, and great food venues abound throughout the park. So much to do in Boston, MA

You can’t actually park your car in Harvard Yard. What you can do in Boston is enjoy some of the country’s most important historical sites and impassioned sports fans. Catch a game at Fenway Park before heading to the North End for some of the Italian neighborhood’s legendary cannoli. Take in the gilded glory of the State House from the edge of the Boston Common, also the starting point for the Freedom Trail, a walking route between 16 sites that were integral to the American Revolution.
